About

I Need Vodka

So I was on a kick about health and decided to drink only vodka. We soon became fast friends. Below are a few true stories about how well vodka and I got along.

Here's me after the incident with

Fifth Milestone

I got lit up one night and was over at Shane, my husband's mom's house. She came at me with some bullshit like she always did and I lost my marbles, for real. I got into her kitchen and started looking for knives. I found a big butcher and ran toward her. She took off running around the couch, with me right on her tail. I think this happened twice and then I took my small children out to my car, I called the police, but I don't know why now. They were in more danger with me than with my mother-in-law at the time.

Fourth Milestone

I got wasted at a wedding and I flirted with this guy that liked me a lot, but I'd never give him the time of day. I was married. But I told his mother what a good son she'd raised and at first, it was all good, but I was already too far gone. I told her about how his friends were trying to hook him up with me for a kiss, and how I tried to turn him on, but I couldn't because he was too good. The mother was mortified, hearing the details. Apparently, I had said and done some other things I don't remember during the celebration. I never asked for any further details, and my husband's sister-in-law hates me after that. I know that whatever I did was bad.

Third Milestone

At my older son's 18th birthday, apparently, I was so belligerent to everyone, they were talking about locking me in a room. They just left me alone though in hopes I wouldn't get any worse. My son told me he was disappointed in me and for a while no one trusted me around other people. They were scared I'd make another scene.

Second Milestone

When I drink vodka, which was my drink of choice through my whole career as an alcoholic, I tend to sleepwalk. Well one night, while dead asleep, I entered my mother's kitchen. There were 24 cupcakes on the counter. They were for my youngest son's class for his birthday. He would need them in the morning to take to school. Well, my drunk ass turned on the gas range. At some point, I acquired a large plastic toy Transformer replica that stood over a foot tall. I lit it on fire on the range, took the cupcakes and then went to my room where I ate said cupcakes and nearly burned my mother's house down. Someone put the fire out but the kitchen looked like a level in Hell. Tendrils of soot fell from the ceiling. There's still soot in mom's kitchen after cleaning for 10 years.

First Milestone

I went to a friend's house with another friend, and it was supposed to be a chill girl day. The three of us got together, had some ritas and then we went outside. After talking in the garden for a while, we fell asleep. When I woke up, I didn't know where I was. Being directionally dyslexic. I couldn't find my girl's condo. All the doors had the same HOA seasonal wreath too. No way was I finding the right condo. I was missing my shoes, but I figured I'd need to hit the sideway along the small highway before it got dark. I started walking. I went into a gas station which also had good smelling Chinese food, and I begged the owner for a plate, but she refused. Next, I ran into 3 young boys with a cell phone, which I was lacking. They thought I was creepy and ran away from me, My girlfriend ended up calling my husband and he found me about 3-4 miles up the highway. I was rescued, then ridiculed.

The things we let happen to us. The things we do to ourselves.

If you decide to quit alcohol on your own, be aware that depending how much you were drinking, the withdrawals can be very difficult to deal with. For me, it's a lot of anxiety as I cut back on the substance. The past time, I pushed back 1 drink per hour per day. I was drinking 12 drinks then too.
